Memorial Day

sliding from Ashley Colunga on Vimeo.

We spent the Memorial Day holiday playing in your blow-up pool from Uncle Matt, cooking out and playing outside. You went nuts playing on the slide in the living room but once we got it outside and put water in it you were a bit timid. You stared awkwardly at the pool for a few minutes but finally warmed up to it.

We cooked out burgers and had dinner on Nana's back patio then we walked over to great-grandma and great-grandpas house for a visit on the pack porch and picked some fresh veggies from their garden. Loving country living!

Polka Fest 2013

Polka Fest 2013 was a blast as usual. Such a great weekend with family friends and lots of Czech food!

On Friday morning I baked kolaches at the KJT hall with Nana, Great-grandma, Sherry, Mckinley, Taylor and Belinda. This is one of my favorite Polka Fest traditions. 4 generations of kolache bakers. Maybe one day you can join us!

This year you had your very first kolache. It was a hit and you have eaten about 2 a day for the last 4 days.

Getting ready to go to the polka king and queen dance competition. You had so much fun hanging out with Braden and Mckinley.

Watching the parade with the Byrd boys, Braden and Mckinely.

Ya'll all look miserable but I promise it was fun:)

 Loving your green snow-cone!

Such a fun bunch!

18 Months

Your new favorite thing to do is play in the dirt. You love your little dump truck and buckets. Basically anything that is outside and messy is right up your alley!

You are also still into all types of balls. I love watching you get really focused as you try to shoot a basketball into an 8ft tall basket. Hey at least you have ambition and seem to think that it may actually go in!

We have been at Nana's house for a full month now and you are loving the country life. Playing outside, picnics, wagon rides to great-grandmas and lots of family time.

I cannot believe 18 months have already gone by. Time to start planning your second birthday:)

Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day 2013
Mother's Day 2012

Happy mother's day to me!  I can truly say that every day with you is a blessing. You are the most laid back fun loving toddler that 99% of the time just goes with the flow. (now that 1% of the time that you are a hot mess is another story)

You have filled my heart to the brim with love and that love spills over every time you run into my arms to give me a hug. Its hard to believe that a year has gone by since my very first Mother's day. You have grown from a chunky monkey baby to a sweet caring little boy. I love you B and am so glad that I am your mommy:)

Party at the Farm

Nana and David hosted a 60th anniversary party for Bob and Sadie out at David's farm this weekend. It took you a minute to warm up but once you did you were running around and keeping up with all of the kiddos. You guys played ball and colored with sidewalk chalk. Such a fun night!

Give me my spoon!

You dropped your spoon and no one was in the house except Daddy. Pretty sure Yaya couldn't hear you from her house:)

Weekend with Braden and Mckinley

You, Braden and Mckinley had the best time this weekend climbing trees, having a pizza party and just being silly. They were in town all weekend and you guys even shared a room together at night.

The morning after night one Mckinley told us that you talked all night and she had to keep shushing you. We laughed but didn't really believe her. The next night around 10:00pm I went to ya'lls door to listen and sure enough you were blurting out every random word that you knew. Nana, Yaya, door, door, bye bye etc. All the while Mckinley is shushing you like crazy.

When you guys woke up the next morning all I heard was giggles. You guys thought you were so cool to be awake and alone in the room together. It sounded like you were having so much fun so I went and laid back down to let you guys be silly until I heard Braden and Mckinley devising a plan on how to get you out of your crib. Then the party was over!

I love that you guys are so close. You light up every time they are around and you even kiss their pictures on the coffee table when we mention their names. I cannot wait to watch you guys grow up together.
