Daddy's New Schedule

Daddy started his new schedule which as been a bit of an adjustment because he is gone 4 evenings out of the week. To help with the transition we take tons of fun pictures and send them to Daddy throughout the evening to help his night go by faster. This one made me laugh so I had to save it on your blog.

Tantrum

Your newest thing is temper tantrums. At this point they are still new and funny and cute. Not sure how long that will last.

Here you are attempting to re-organize the closet. I let you do it for a while because you were just messing with the diapers.

Little Brox having and good ole time. And then.....

.....mean Mommy shut the door!

Food Food Food

Seems like overnight you went from eating only baby food and gagging on anything that wasn't mush to eating everything in site. On Sunday you polished off the following:
green beans
mashed potatoes and gravy
mac and cheese
chocolate pudding
bananas
re-fried beans
rice
meat and dough from a gordita

I am thinking this means we do not have a picky eater on our hands. It is so exciting to watch you become more independent and try new things.

Preliminary Trick-or-Treating

We kicked off Halloween a week early while we were in Ennis. First stop was great-grandmas to show you off in the costume she made. You walked up to the front door (which we never use at her house) to make it official.

Next stop was Yaya's house then we wrapped up at Nana's house. You got clothes, snacks, shoes, puzzles etc. Really raked in the goodies! I can't wait to take you out on Halloween proper with Daddy.

Halloween Photo Shoot

I designed and great-grandma sewed your very first Halloween costume. I had to capture a few pics while we were out at David's land doing our family photo shoot. Cutest. Clown. Ever.

Undy 5000

We rocked our underwear outside our clothes this Saturday to raise awareness for Colon Cancer at the Undy 5000 5k. Not only did we have a great time but we got to do something in memory of your grandpa. This will definitely be an annual event for us.

 Ready to run!

It was about 38 degrees outside. You kiddos were troopers though!

 Braden showing off his booty!

Hanging out at Cafe Brazil for post race brunch.

Growing so fast

There have been so many changes with you this week! You are now a self feeder and get annoyed when we try to spoon feed you anything. Last night your dinner consisted of shredded cheese, puffs and bread. Looks like Mommy needs to start stocking up on healthy finger foods for you and chunk all the baby food.

You are now consistently signing "more" which means you officially know "milk" and "more". Hopefully we can tackle "please next."

We are also working on the big transition from bottle to sippy. Sometimes you do great and sometimes you wave your hands around in front of you to block the sippy as if there is poison in it. I thought we had a while to work in the transition but Dealey just informed me that at 1 year you will be on sippy only at school and will sleep on a cot! Holy crap I cannot believe you are already moving out of a crib. We are so excited to watch you learn knew things and grow but its also bittersweet thinking about you not being a little baby anymore.

Here is a fun little video of you laughing at Daddy. Such a giggle box!

Happy Fall!

It's finally cooling down in Texas and we have been taking advantage of the great weather by spending time outside. You and I had a mommy son day at the Arboretum. You loved the pumpkin patch and thought it was pretty cool that you could lean on them and prop yourself up. We walked all around the gardens then had lunch on the patio at the Degoyler House. Normally you are very quiet in public and are busy taking everything in but sure enough at the fancy restaurant with classical music playing you decided to be Mr. Personality and "talk" the whole time. By talking I mean yelling. Luckily it was busy and I don't think anyone was bothered by your shining personality:) We had such a great time that we decided to become members. This will give us somewhere to escape to on the weekends when Daddy has to sleep in after working nights on his new schedule.

Texas OU

Your best buddy Hadlin came over on Saturday to watch the big Texas OU game. Your grandpa Gary went to school there so we have always been Texas fans but we were more interested in playing with you two cuties!

Backyard Fun

Some of our best times happen after we wait with anticipation for Daddy to come home. You get so excited to see him then we either go for a walk or go out in the backyard for some playtime. Daddy decided to let you hang out in the back of his truck which you thought was pretty cool!

Fair Day

Fair day was a big success! You had such a great time riding the rides with grandpa David, looking at Big Tex and checking out the animals.

You kept putting your hand out to touch the animals but when they would get to close you would snatch your hand away.
Maybe we will ride this next year!
 Fastest carousel ever!

Daddy tried but didn't when you any gigantic scary stuffed animals!
