First Food!

We introduced you to your first food on Sunday evening, mashed avocado. All my friends say that if you introduce avocado first you won't be a picky eater. Hopefully that is true since your dad would only eat chicken nuggets the first 18 years of his life!  We were so excited and had you all set up outside in your bumbo with the camera ready. You seemed to go for the spoon but you didn't really know what to do with the food and kind of just let it sit in your mouth. We tried again a few days later and you did much better. Sweet potatoes are next!

Spring fun!

We had such a great weekend together enjoying the great weather. On Saturday we had a play-date with Miss Hadlin in our front-yard and on Sunday we headed down to Ennis to have lunch at Great Grandma's and take pictures in the bluebonnets. We played outside on the back patio with Braden and Mckinley and went for a walk up the road to a really thick patch of bluebonnets to take pictures. You were not a big fan of the heat or the sun but we still got a few good shots of you. We spent the rest of the afternoon cooling off inside and playing with the kids. You thought Braden was hilarious and laughed at him all afternoon. I love our fun Sunday's in Ennis. We are so fortunate to get to see our family so often and can enjoy the farm, scenery and fresh air!

Out with the Boys!

This Saturday our friends Jordon, Gary and Billy invited us to meet them for drinks on the patio at Sfuzzis, a popular Uptown hangout, and were actually OK with you coming along. I must admit I was nervous. I knew they wouldn't be the most forgiving group if you acted like a hot mess but you really pulled through for us. You were perfect! The guys even warmed up to you and wanted to hold you and you were so comfortable that you fell asleep in Jordon's arms. We are so lucky to have such a well mannered baby and we are crossing our fingers that your personality continues in this direction. Since you were on your best behavior we are hoping to get invited out again soon:)

Dressed to impress!

Still a little unsure about Jordon

Laughing at my sneezes

You warmed up to Jordon so much that you fell asleep in his arms

Ready to go home!

Baptism

Your baptism was such a special event filled with lots of family and love. We spent weeks getting ready for the big day to make sure everything was perfect. The first step was finding the perfect design for you baptism gown and having great grandma make it. It turned out beautifully and is something we will cherish and pass down for generations.

On the day of baptism we were a little nervous because you had a horrible cough and stuffy nose but you were a trooper and were in a great mood all day! We got you dressed in your gown and walked over to our church for the ceremony. We chose Aunt Sherry and uncle Tim as your Godparents. We knew they were the perfect choice for this role and will be to provide guidance in so many ways throughout your life. You slept through the entire service and barely whimpered when they poured water on your head. When we were holding you at the alter you kept sneaking smiles at us to let us know you were aware of what was going on.

After the ceremony we all walked to our home and enjoyed sweets and lemonade. I didn't see you through most of the party because everyone was taking turns loving on you and passing you around. It was such a blessing to have our house filled with so much love and everyone coming together to celebrate you. You are one special little boy Brox that has captured the hearts of so many people.

You and Daddy watching TV trying to wake up the morning of your baptism. Both of you take a while to get moving:) I had already been running around getting ready for about 2 hours.
Great Grandma did such a great job on your gown. I love all the detail work.
